Planned trips for 2012

This year, which will be a financial tougher year, I would still like to and hopefully can visit my foreign friends and travel abroad for the welcoming change. Fortunately I have to or can do that for work several times :-) .
Will start with an organized party trip on a boat to Newcastle in the UK in January. Actually it is not so much about Newcastle (as we will be there only a few hours) but more about the trip itself and talk and meet the fellow workers at the mother company.
Probably end of February I will have my “yearly” trip to Portugal to meet my Portuguese friends and the special occasion is a 45th Birthday this time of one of my best friends.
In February also a working visit to Learntec in Karlsruhe in Germany is planned, to meet and assist our German business partners.

Planning something for Easter, Germany (family) or Norway?

Although I would love to go to Canada again in the Summer Holiday (and I did some pre-planning) I might skip it this year as I need to save for next year’s 55th Birthday celebration in Canada? The alternative now could be going north again to Scandinavia. And especially Norway, which is extremely nice and scenic wise maybe even better than Maritime Canada. Will save on flight and a rental car at least :-) . Or better would be to just stay in the Netherlands and save money.

This year our mother company is existing 25 years and as part of the occasion we will go in September to Madrid in Spain for a long weekend.

This year (2011) I was at home at New Years Eve, the next time will most probably go abroad, to visit my friends in England?

All together looking good I would say and will cost me only 2,5 weeks of days as rest is business or in national holiday days.

But ….. one of my goals is to visit a new country this year … hm …. not in above planning yet :-) .
